The 2009 Conference Glass Roots is now over. By all accounts it was a great success, and now you can all start planning to attend the 2011 Conference in Sydney.

There are too many highlights to be comprehensive. The month-long 30th Anniversary Exhibition attracted a lot of comments on its quality from delegates, critics and the public. Delegates loved the visit to the visually stunning Government House and a possibility of chatting with the Governor of Tasmania. The compact venue contributed to the quality experience, and the parties were a great success, especially the Closing Party which was extended on teh night by popular request.

Public involvement was also a success with hundreds 0f people attending the Saturday morning, and many coming for the Auction.

The workshops were a great success artistically and technically, and held in such scenic places! Great cameraderie was shown by all participants, and it never ceases to amaze at how much glass artists are open to sharing.

Please read the next two newsletters for articles and photos of this great event of 2009, the birthplace of Australian studio glass, and proud host of the 30th Anniversary Conference.
